Midland School, Staff Quarters Midland School is a small but excellent college-prep boarding school in a bucolic setting. I have a lot of source material from a visit there that I simply haven't gotten to yet. These two sketches were done on location at the school...many more in my head. I tried to paint the rocks and cliffs to my left, but that scene kept bugging at me, so finally I gave in and did it....That white cloud is really a plume of smoke from a Sonoma wildfire.
